Set clear locations (stores, bays, vehicles, zones) so check-in has somewhere useful to land. Invite managers first, then the people who actually move items.
Keep the habit simple: scan on the way out, scan on the way back. Review history when something is disputed instead of relying on memory.
Once the core loop is trusted, expand labelling to the next category of assets. Gradual rollout beats a big-bang list that nobody maintains.
